Sustainability Forward Companies We Use
We have been taking active steps to move towards sustainability in our company. The culture in the hair world is often wasteful and full of things like single use plastics that can't be or aren't recyclable. While net zero is likely unachievable in the beauty world we are doing our best to work with companies that care about reducing the carbon footprint of salons around the world.
Lakme
Lakme is our newest color line. They are a spanish based brand that markets sustainability as one of their core company values. All of their products and hair color are vegan and cruelty free. Their developer bottles are biodegradable. One of our representatives has one buried in his back yard and says that it is already almost entirely broken down in just 3 years.
Amika
These hair products are not only amazing quality but they are very sustainability forward. They promise to reach net zero on carbon emissions by 2035.
They use 90% post-consumer (pcr) plastics in their bottles (with the exception of 2 skus - 1 undergoing pcr testing, 1 passed its pcr testing as of feb, 2022). They save 65% of energy in their production. They have also promise to uphold DEI. This by no means is a complete list. Click the button on the right to see what all they do!
